LAHORE:

An elderly couple was found murdered in their house in Sabzazar on Monday.

Police said the victims identified as Syed Anisuddin, 60 and Nasira Bibi, 45 had been living in their house in Hassan Town. On the day of the incident, they were found dead in their house. Anis’s brother in law from his first wife, who lived nearby, informed the police. The victims had been stabbed to death with a sharp-edged weapon.

Police shifted the bodies to the morgue for autopsy, collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and launched investigations keeping in view all the angles including personal enmity, a property dispute or robbery.

The initial investigations revealed that Nasira was the second wife of Anis. His first wife had died some time ago. He had two children from the first wife.

After the death of his first wife, he got married to Nasira. His both sons have settled abroad.

Police said that the bodies were in dilapidated condition. It looked like they might have been murdered at least three days back (Friday). When the family members could not make contact with them, they asked his in-laws who lived nearby to check for them.

Police said they were investigating the matter. A few days back, an elderly couple was found dead in their house in Kot Lakhpat.
