Covid-19 claims 80 more lives in Punjab

With 1,817 fresh infections, total virus cases across province exceed 316,330

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 80 more lives across Punjab while 1,817 fresh infections were reported across the province during the past 24 hours.

According to the data shared by the spokesperson of Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), the number of coronavirus cases in the province exceeded 316,330 while total deaths had reached 8,951.

The total recoveries across Punjab were 266,745.

The P&SHD confirmed 761 new cases were reported in Lahore, 28 in Kasur, 15 in Sheikhupura, 18 in Nankana Sahib, 104 in Rawalpindi, two in Attock, seven in Jhelum, six in Chakwal, 28 in Gujranwala, 14 in Hafizabad, 22 in Mandi Bahauddin, 11 in Sialkot, one in Narowal, 27 in Gujrat, 161 in Faisalabad, 13 in Toba Tek Singh and 15 in Chiniot.

The provincial health department has so far conducted 4,724,658 tests for Covid-19.

The P&SHD officials had urged the citizens to follow SOPs for their protection and cover their faces with masks.

The people should wash their hands with soap several times in a day to protect themselves from Covid-19.
