61 cops face probe for ‘extorting money’

Suspects were allegedly involved in seeking monthly payments from LPG shops

An Inquiry has been started against 61 officers and employees of Faisalabad police who allegedly received monthly from gas refilling shops in Faisalabad.

LPG Industrial Association of Pakistan chairman, in his application to IG Punjab, RPO, Faisalabad CPO, said that there is direct police interference in the LPG business.

Officials of all police stations in Faisalabad receive extortion of millions of rupees monthly from shops in Faisalabad.

LPG Industrial Association of Pakistan chairman has given the phone numbers of Faisalabad police officers and employees and video of receipt of money and also a list to senior officers. On which the CPO has appointed SSP Operation as Inquiry Officer.

According to police, 24 employees including an Circle Factory Area SHO, two gunmen, three ASIs of Sargodha Road police station, four drivers and two clerks, 22 employees including security officer and two ASIs of Madina Town PS, clerks of Kharrianwala police station, five employees including an ASI, two from City Samandari Police Station, six employees, including a driver from Mansoorabad, two ASIs and two security officers are included.
