Ukraine business delegation to visit Pakistan in June
A business delegation of Ukraine has planned to visit Pakistan from June 8-11, 2021 to hold business-to-business meetings with local counterparts and explore opportunities of joint ventures and trade promotion, said Ukrainian Embassy Deputy Head of Mission Vitalii Zaianchkovskye.
Interacting with the business community during a visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Thursday, he said that the 10-member delegation would be led by the president of Chernihiv Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He elaborated that members of the delegation would represent various sectors including agriculture, textile, leather, chemicals and edible oil, and they would visit different factories to explore avenues of collaboration with Pakistan’s business community.
“Both countries have immense potential to cooperate with each other in diverse areas and the purpose of the visit of Ukrainian delegation will be to explore all possible avenues of mutual cooperation between the two nations,” he said. “A delegation of Sialkot businessmen is also planning to visit Ukraine in the near future.”

He was of the view that frequent exchange of delegations was the best way to explore and identify all untapped areas for the promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Speaking on the occasion, ICCI President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan said that bilateral trade between Pakistan and Ukraine stood at $411 million in 2020 and the trade balance was highly in favour of Ukraine.
He lamented that the bilateral trade volume was way below the actual potential. “Pakistan exports high-quality products to foreign countries at attractive prices,” he stressed.
Giving more details, he pointed out that Pakistan’s export products included textiles, pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, leather products, sports goods, rice, fruits and vegetables, cement, electronics and engineering goods.
The chamber president requested Ukraine to import these products from Pakistan as it would improve the volume of bilateral trade between the two nations.
Khan assured Ukraine of all possible support and cooperation from his chamber in connecting delegation members with right partners in Pakistan and making the trip successful.
