Bollywood’s famous firebrand actor, Kangana Ranaut marked 15 years today since her debut film Gangster hit theatres in 2006. The starlet took to Twitter to share some thoughts on her journey, comparing her trajectory in the film industry to that of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s. She celebrated her success by sharing a collage of a throwback picture of herself and a recent one, as her caption detailed her rocky start when she was first trying to make it into the showbiz industry.
Kangana said that the success stories of Shah Rukh and herself were among the biggest in the Indian film industry to date. However, she added that the Raees star was given much more privilege compared to her. She stated that Shah Rukh belonged to an educated background with connections in the film industry, whereas she did not speak English and came from an unsupportive household.
“Fifteen years ago, Gangster released today, Shahrukh Khan ji and mine are the biggest success stories ever but Shah Rukh was from Delhi, convent educated and his parents were involved in films. I did not know a single word of English, no education, came from a remote village of HP and every step was a battle starting with my own father and grandfather, who made my life miserable, and yet 15 years later after so much success, every day is still a fight for survival but totally worth it. Thank you everyone,” the Queen actor tweeted
