Three ‘criminals associated with a former jail gang’ held

Crime Investigation Agency of Islamabad Police arrested three alleged criminals

ISLAMABAD:

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the Islamabad Police has arrested three alleged criminals and recovered cash, eight mobile phones, a motorbike and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

According to the details, DIG (Operations) Islamabad Police Afzaal Ahmad Kausar categorically directed all police officers to accelerate their efforts to curb crime and secure the city against criminals.

Following these directions, SSP (Investigation) Attaur-Rehman constituted a special police team under the supervision of DSP CIA, including ASI Haider Ali Shah, for surprise checking in various areas of the city

This team nabbed three alleged members of a former jail gang, said the police spokesman, adding that the suspects have been identified as Muhammad Liaqat, Muhammad Raisat, a resident of Jabi Alipur Farash Islamabad, and Muhammad Rashid, a resident of Hazar Colony Rawalpindi.

The police team also recovered cash, eight mobile phones, a motorbike and illicit weapons along with ammunition from their possession.

Separate cases have been registered against them at Koral and Shahzad Town police stations and further investigation is underway, said the police spokesperson.

DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar has appreciated the performance and directed all police officials to remain vigilant in their respective areas and to ensure the safety and security of the citizens.

A day ago, the Rawalpindi police arrested 10 people for possessing unlicensed weapons. Ten pistols and ammunition were recovered from their possession and cases were registered against them.
