Pindi reports 11 deaths, 129 new Covid cases
The novel coronavirus continues to spread in the twin cities as 469 cases were reported in the federal capital and 129 in the garrison city with 11 fatalities on Monday, a National Command Operation Center (NCOC) official said.
According to the details, so far 73,450 cases were reported from the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), resulting in 665 deaths while 59,993 patients have recovered from the deadly virus.
Moreover, the Rawalpindi Commissioner Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah said that 3,534 people were vaccinated in Rawalpindi on Monday, taking the total number of people inoculated to 78,271 in the division. He added that 28,527 people have contracted the virus until now while 25,149 among them have been discharged after making a full recovery.
A District Health Authority (DHA) official said that the 11 deaths due to coronavirus takes the death toll to 1,132 out of which 866 belonged to Rawalpindi and 266 to other districts. He said that 20,717 patients were discharged after recovering from the virus while 3,769 were in quarantine with 2,293 at home and 1,476 in isolation wards.
He informed that in a span of 24 hours, 46 patients were reported from Rawal Town, 28 from Potohar, 22 from Cantt, eight from Gujar Khan, and nine from Taxila.
