Shehzad Arbab reviews performance of ministries in third quarter

The Review Committee gave their feedback on the performance of ministries

The review of the performance of ministries and divisions during the third quarter of the FY 2020-21 has been initiated with a series of meetings by the Peer Review Committee under the chairmanship of Mohammad Shehzad Arbab, SAPM on Establishment here at PM Office.

The FBR, Water Resource Division, Railways Division, Aviation Division and National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division presented their performance reports today under the Performance Agreements signed between the Prime Minister and the ministers concerned.

The other members of the Peer Review Committee included Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Mr. Jehanzeb Khan and senior officers of Establishment Division, Cabinet Division, Finance Division and Planning Division.

The ministries' targets were based on the following four categories of initiatives: (i) Administrative and internal financial matters (ii) Key initiatives under PSDP (iii) Key programs not included in PSDP (iv) Key policy/ reforms initiatives.

Ministries also furnished the status of their targets in the performance reports in the following format: (i) Total targets in Performance Agreements (ii) Completed targets (iii) Partially completed targets (iv) Initiated targets (v) Initiatives not started.

The Review Committee gave their feedback on the performance of ministries as well.

Mr. Arbab stated on the occasion that this feedback will help ministries in the completion of their quarterly and annual targets. He also stated that in order to reduce the time span for completion of initiatives and improve the service delivery, monthly meetings of ministries/ divisions with the highest level of dependencies will be held. These ministries/ divisions include Establishment Division, Cabinet Division, Finance Division and Planning Division.

The report of the performance review of the ministries/ divisions will be presented to the Prime Minister.
