Three citizens were shot and injured for offering resistance during robberies on Wednesday.

Two men were reportedly shot and injured by the armed robbers during a robbery near Allahwala Hotel located between Baldia 24 Market and Furniture Market.

The injured, identified as Adil Shehzad, 28, and Ibrahim Aslam, 35, were shifted to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital.

According to SHO Saleem Rind, Adil sustained a bullet wound in the arm and Ibrahim sustained a bullet wound in the abdomen. However, the condition of both the injured was stable, he added.

SHO Rind said that the injured men have a water pumps shop and they were going to their shop after drawing Rs550,000 from a bank near Allahwala Hotel when four robbers snatched their money at gunpoint and shot them.

The robbers knew the injured men as they had called them by name during the incident, claimed the SHO, adding that the police recovered bullet shells and other evidence from the spot and launched investigations in their light.

Moreover, a young man was shot and injured during a robbery near Farzand Bakery in Korangi No 1. The injured, identified as 18-year-old Arif, was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

Zaman Town SHO Farooq Sanjrani said that Arif was working at an oven and was on his way to work early in the morning when unidentified armed men robbed him and shot him for offering resistance.
