Ali Azmat tests positive for Covid-19

Ali Azmat is the latest celebrity to have tested positive for Covid-19.

The singer took to Instagram on Monday evening to share the unfortunate news in a rather hilarious video message. In his true Punjabi element, Azmat announced that he has tested positive for the virus and told it to go away.

"Lo jee, result positive aa gaya. Dafa duur corona [Oh great, I’ve tested positive. Get lost Corona]," he wrote in the caption of his video message. The Junoon front man then urged his fans to stay home and keep safe during the ongoing pandemic.

Previously, stars including Mahira Khan, Ali Rehman Khan and Sanam Jung, alongside her daughter, had also tested positive for the virus.

Pakistan recorded this year's highest Covid-19 death toll on Saturday, after a total of 149 fatalities were recorded in the country, as per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). It also recorded its highest single-day tally of coronavirus cases in 10 months, with 6,127 fresh cases reported in a day. The country's tally for confirmed cases has now reached 756,285, whereas the number of total active Covid-19 cases across the country has reached 80,559.

According to the NCOC, Punjab reported the most deaths over 24 hours, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). It added that out of the 149 fatalities, 131 were reported in hospitals, whereas 18 were recorded outside of hospitals.Nevertheless, here’s wishing Azmat a quick recovery!
