Fire breaks out in furniture workshop
Furniture and other goods worth millions of rupees were reduced to ash as a fire broke out in a furniture workshop in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Saturday night.
A team of firefighters reached the site after the fire department was informed of the incident and launched a firefighting operation. They were able to douse the flames after a struggle of three hours.
According to fire department officials, four fire tenders and three water tankers were used to extinguish the fire.
Besides, the officials said, a firefighter, Ismail, fell ill after being exposed to smoke and was rushed to a nearby private healthcare facility.
Fire department officials weren't able to ascertain the cause of the fire till the filing of this report.
The owner of the burnt workshop owns another workshop in Liaquatabad, where a fire had broken out last month. The cause of the fire hasn't been ascertained till now.
The police are investigating both the fire incidents.
