Reference filed against 6 Red Crescent officials

Accused embezzled millions of rupees in the funds allocated for natural disasters and welfare of people

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed reference against six officials of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society Balochistan chapter, including former chairman and former secretary, accused of a corruption scandal of millions of rupees.

According to the investigation carried out by the NAB, the accused embezzled millions of rupees in the funds allocated for natural disasters and welfare of people.

Red Crescent Balochitan’s former chairman Shabbir Ahmed and former secretary Jehanzeb Raisani were earlier arrested in the case.

The documents of NAB Balochistan chapter revealed the accused were unable to answer the question related to the renovation of the office, fuel and rent-a-car service built in the name of their employee.
