KARACHI:

A man died alleged by suicide at his house in Korangi late on Friday night.

The death was reported to the police by the deceased's nephew, Raheel, who is a police constable.

Raheel told the police that his uncle, 50-year-old A*, had called him and asked him to visit his house by 8pm on Friday. Upon reaching his uncle's residence, Raheel found his body hanging from a ceiling fan.

The deceased's family told the police they had found the suicide note, in which A stated that his apartment be given in the ownership of his sister after his death. The family claimed that A committed suicide as he was depressed about not getting married.

The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. However, the heirs refused to follow through with medico-legal proceedings.
