Football: Tottenham match postponed

Postponed due to the violence in London, confirmed league chief executive Richard Scudamore.

LONDON:
Tottenham’s opening Premier League match against Everton has been postponed due to the violence in London, confirmed league chief executive Richard Scudamore. He said the decision had been taken following advice from police but said so far the nine other fixtures due to take place this weekend were expected to go ahead as planned. “We respect the police’s decision,” said Scudamore.
