Over 250 fresh Covid infections detected in Sindh

The provincial coronavirus tally and pandemic death toll rose to 266,172 and 4,506 respectively

Sindh reported over 250 fresh coronavirus cases and two more pandemic-related fatalities on Friday.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's House, 256 new cases were diagnosed when 9,050 samples were tested for the contagion.

The provincial coronavirus tally and pandemic death toll rose to 266,172 and 4,506 on the day.

Moreover, the statement apprised that 95 persons also recovered from the contagion overnight, lifting the number of recoveries in Sindh to 256,479.

As many as 5,187 persons were under treatment for the virus as of Friday. Of these, 4,897 were in home isolation, eight at isolation centres and 282 admitted at different hospitals. The condition of 258 patients was stated to be critical with at least 33 shifted to ventilators.

Of the 256 new infections, 99 were reported from Karachi.
