At least four family members were gunned down in an attack by unidentified assailants in Tehsil Gandakha of Balochistan’s Jaffarabad district on Monday.
Two children were also injured in the attack. According to police, the tragic incident took place in Goth Abdul Latif Mengal when armed men attacked the house of Hameedullah Mengal and opened indiscriminate fire, resulting in the death of four persons on the spot.
The attackers managed to flee away successfully after the attack. Police reached the site after receiving information about the incident and shifted the bodies and injured to the district hospital in Dera Allahyar.
Doctors said all the deceased persons received multiple bullet injuries that resulted in their instant death.
District Police Officer Jaffarabad Iftikhar Ahmed said police were conducting raids in different areas to nab the attackers. “The cause of the attack was an old enmity,” he said.
The victims were identified as Zafarullah, Manzoor Mengal, Nasir Ali and Bakhsh Ali Pandrani.
