The Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department has accepted a proposal for complete closure of commercial activities every Friday and Saturday in the district.
According to a notification, the change in weekend closure of markets on Friday and Saturday instead of Saturday and Sunday has been allowed on the request of local traders forwarded by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali.
Now, the local markets will remain closed on Friday and Saturday.
While the business activities will continue on Sunday till 6pm.
On the directions of the Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department, the district administration had disallowed business activities on Saturday and Sunday. This decision has been implemented in the wake of increasing coronavirus infection rate in the district.
