Anti-narcotics judge adjourns proceedings till April 3

LAHORE:

An anti-narcotics court judge has fixed the next date for framing charges against PML-N Punjab president Rana Sanaullah in a drug peddling case.

The co-accused of Sana was not available in court and the proceedings were adjourned till April 3 for framing charges.

According to the FIR registered by deputy director operations Anti-Narcotics Force on July 1, 2019 under sections 186,189, and 353 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and clauses 15, 17 of section 9C of the CNSA 1997, the ANF received information that Rana Sanaullah was involved in drug smuggling and was allegedly carrying heroin in his vehicle to Lahore.

Sanaullah challenges NAB inquiry on assets

The ANF formed a raiding team consisting of 21 officials. The team reached motorway Ravi Toll Plaza and intercepted two vehicles.

When Sana was asked about the drugs, he admitted there was heroin in a suitcase placed behind his seat, the complainant claimed. Meanwhile, Sanaullah’s guards attempted to rescue him but failed.

The police seized 15kgs of heroin, guns, pistols and bullets from their possession and took them to the ANF headquarters.
