A condolence reference for (late) Prof Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, who was a former vice chancellor of the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad was held on Thursday at the main campus of the university.
Prof Dr Ziaul Qayyum, the current vice-chancellor of the AIOU, presided over the session.
A great number of university teachers, principal officers and officials paid glowing tributes to the late professor on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Hassan Raza and Prof Dr Samina Awan maintained that the death of the professor was a great loss.

He was an excellent educationist, amazing administrator, and a very nice human being, they added.
They recalled his services for academic and infrastructure development at the AIOU. They added that Prof Siddiqui also played memorable roles in the development of the International Islamic University Islamabad and Judicial Academy.
