PESHAWAR:

University of Agriculture Peshawar (UAP) has banned the shooting of videos by couples on its premises after a video of a couple went viral on social media.

In the video a couple could be seen shooting a video probably for TikTok in a deserted part of the university campus. The girl is wearing a bridal suit suggesting that they are newlywed and want to shoot a small video for the social media platform or for sharing with family and friends.

After the video went viral, the university administration have issued a notification banning shooting of such videos by outsiders at its campus.

“University is a place where outsiders should not be allowed in the first place, let alone the shooting of fun videos for TikTok by the newlywed couples,” said university spokesperson Muhammad Ilyas while talking to The Express Tribune, adding that the campus is not for couple photo shoots, couple video shoots or entertainment activities.

“People especially couples come here, take pictures and make videos that are then shared on social media for which administration is blamed oftentimes,” he said, adding that the decision is made to ban such activities.

“We are under pressure in this regard,” he said.

The matter was raised after the pictures and videos of a Punjab’s university couple were circulated on social media and some people objected that such activities were also going on at the UAP unchecked.
