Webinar on role of e-governance held

Also highlighted the role of UN Agencies and UNDP in particular

BAHAWALPUR:

The Department of Political Science at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) organised a webinar titled ‘Role of e-Governance in Effective Public Service Delivery’ on Tuesday.

Speakers in the webinar included Riphah International University’s Institute of Public Policy Director Dr Rashid Aftab, University of Balochistan VC Dr Shafiqur Rehman and UNDP Pakistan Assistant Resident Representative and Chief Development Policy Unit Ammara Durrani.

Speaking on the occasion, IUB Vice Chancellor Dr Athar Mahboob said that e-Governance is the way forward necessitating concerted and integrated efforts by all quarters to reap the dividends of prosperity.

Dr Aftab delivered a comprehensive presentation on ‘E-Governance: Prospects and Challenges for Pakistan's Public Sector.’ Ammara Durrani talked about the role of ‘e-Governance for Realising the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda (SDA) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).’

She also highlighted the role of UN Agencies and UNDP in particular to this effect.
