Sindh reports over 200 Covid infections
Over 200 new coronavirus infections emerged in Sindh on Sunday, when five more fatalities were reported, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's House.
According to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, 232 new cases were detected when 8,036 samples were tested for the contagion.
Elaborating further, Shah said that 3,144,249 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the province thus far and a total of 261,410 cases were diagnosed. The pandemic has claimed at least 4,458 lives in the province while 252,713 persons, including 39 overnight, have also recovered from the infection, he added.
As many as 4,239 patients were under treatment for the virus in Sindh as of Sunday. Of these, 3,947 people were in home isolation and around 284 admitted in hospitals. The condition of 255 persons was stated to be critical, with at 40 shifted on ventilators.
Out of the 232 new cases, 87 hailed from Karachi.
