Rangers arrest three ‘Dai’sh militants’

Suspects received militant training in Afghanistan, recently arrived in Karachi to carry out terror bids

KARACHI:

The Sindh Rangers claimed on Saturday to have arrested three men accused of attacking Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps soldiers in an operation in Ittehad Town.

The suspects, identified as Noor Muhammad, Hiyatullah and Khan Bahadur, are alleged members of banned outfit Dai’sh, which they joined after leaving another militant outfit, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Intelligence reports indicate the suspects received militant training in Afghanistan and recently arrived in Karachi, where they planned to carry out terror bids, said the Sindh Rangers’ spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson, weapons and ammunition were found in the possession of the alleged terrorists when they were arrested in a joint-operation by the paramilitary force and the police.
