LHC orders to review recruitment of special persons

Those who fall under standards of notification could be recruited

LAHORE:

Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday ordered the quarters concerned to submit report after reviewing policy on recruitments of special persons.

LHC Justice Ayesha was hearing a plea against nonallocation of quota of special persons in said department despite 3 per cent quota allocated in all institutions. Justice Ayesha remarked that if a man, with impaired vision, is working as judge then why the same could not be appointed on post of assistant district public prosecutor.

The LHC justice asked Punjab Law Secretary Bahadar Ali Khan, “Why the special persons are not being recruited on posts of assistant district public prosecutors?” Following the department’s policy, the special persons could be recruited, the law secretary replied.

Those who fall under standards of notification could be recruited, the law secretary implored the court. “When the law permits, then is the law above or the government policy?” Justice Ayesha asked. Petitioner Advocate Syed Abdur Rehman Hashmi implored, in his petition, that Punjab Public Service Commission sought application on post of assistant district public prosecutor at which attempt was made to submit an application.
