The celebratory firing killed a man during his son’s wedding function within the jurisdiction of Kahuta police station on Friday.
A woman and a teenage boy were also injured by shots fired on the occasion, the police said.
According to details, the horrific incident occurred during the mehndi function of a man named Sajjad village Mator.
As some people were firing shots in the air in what is perceived as a part of the celebration, the groom’s father Azhar Mehmood sustained a bullet that proved fatal.
The injured were identified as the groom’s aunt, Sonia Shehzadi, a 14-year-old Saim Wahid who had come to attend the wedding from Mandra with his parents.
A duty officer of the Kahuta police Azhar said a case had been registered.
