Sindh reports over 250 Covid infections

Over 250 new coronavirus infections emerged in Sindh on Thursday when 10,377 samples were tested for the contagion, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's House on the day. Sindh also reported four more coronavirus fatalities, lifting the provincial death toll to 4,452.

As many as 255 new cases were detected while 859 persons recovered from the contagion overnight, said Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah. Thus far, 3,116,999 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the province and a total of 260,660 cases have been diagnosed, elaborated Shah. Of these, 252,532 patients have also recovered from the virus, he added.

Of the new cases, 136 belonged to Karachi. These included 89 new infections detected in East district, 15 in South, 11 each in Central and Malir districts, five in Korangi and as many in West district.

Meanwhile, 13 new cases emerged in Tando Muhammad Khan, 13 each in Hyderabad and Thatta, 10 in Sanghar, eight in Khairpur, seven each in Matiari and Mirpurkhas, six in Jacobabad and as many in Larkana. Besides, Kambar Shahdadkot and Naushore Feroze reported five new infections each, Ghotki, Umerkot and Tando Allahyar reported four new cases each, Shikarpur two, and Badin, Sujawal, Sukkur and Shaheed Benazirabad reported one new case each.
