Crackdown on non-customs paid vehicles

QUETTA:

The Pakistan Customs initiated a large-scale crackdown on non-customs paid vehicles at Lakpass on Tuesday.

They arrested two accused persons and seized their vehicles as well. During checking the customs officials discovered that two Toyota Aqua and one Suzuki passenger van was being smuggled inland.

The accused persons Abdul Razzaq and Abdul Latif were taken into custody. A first information report were also registered against them.

According to Irfan Javed, Collector Customs, Quetta, the action was taken after clear steps taken by the federal government, FTO and the chief collector. He added that similar operations will be intensified further.

“Soon the operation will be expanded to other areas in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies,” Collector Javed said.

The action was taken on the instructions of Chief Collector Customs Balochistan Gul Rehman.
