Police nab three ‘members of robbers’ gang’

KARACHI:

The Sharae Faisal Police arrested on Tuesday three persons, said to be members of a gang involved in house robberies, and claimed to have found TT pistols, cash worth Rs700,000, gold and silver jewellery, watches, cameras and other valuables in their possession.

The police said the suspects were identified as Abdul Aleem, Muhammad Qasim and Waseem alias Guddu.

According to Gulshan-e-Iqbal SP Maroof Usman, the suspects were based in Punjab and would travel to Karachi to commit robberies and return thereafter.

He said they were identified in the footage acquired from two CCTV cameras, in which they were seen committing robberies.

The SP said the suspects were arrested earlier as well in cases registered in Taimuria, Sir Syed, Yousuf Plaza and Liaquatabad police stations.

According to the police, the suspects confessed to committing robberies in the jurisdictions of Alfalah, Khwaja Ajmer Nagri, Samanabad, New Karachi Industrial Area, North Nazimabad, New Karachi, Sir Syed and Gulshan-e-Iqbal police stations.

The police said the suspects were booked in four cases registered at Sharae Faisal Police Station and efforts were being made to arrest their accomplices, namely Ghulam Murtuza, Shaukat, Shahid alias Bakra and Qadir Bengali.
