Sindh reports under 200 new infections

Under 200 new coronavirus infections were detected in the province, where the pandemic claimed six more lives, said Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday. The provincial pandemic tally and death toll rose to 260,149 and 4,442, he added.

According to the CM, 194 cases emerged when 7,499 samples were tested for the contagion. He added that thus far 3,096,658 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the province.

As many as 251,531 patients, including 137 overnight, have also recovered from the contagion, he said.

As of Tuesday the province had 4,176 active coronavirus cases, according to Shah. Of these, 3,860 were in home isolation, 11 at isolation centers and 305 at different hospitals. The CM said that the condition of 274 patients was critical, with at least 43 shifted to ventilators.

Out of the 194 new cases, 114 were detected in Karachi alone. Meanwhile, Hyderabad reported 29 new infections, Shaheed Benazirabad 13, Jamshoro seven, Tando Muhammad Khan six, Ghotki and Larkana four each, Jacobabad and Tando Allahyar three each, Naushero Feroze and Umerkot two each and Dadu and Sukkur reported one new case each.
