PNCA announces old songs competition
To keep the tradition alive and to stir memories, the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has announced a competition of old Pakistani films songs.
The PNCA is celebrating the success of Pakistani films and their music under the banner of the Pakistan National Film Awards (PNFA), according to a press release issued on Tuesday.
The deadline to submit entries is March 12 and the winners will also be invited to perform at the PNCA Islamabad.
They will be awarded cash prizes as well as certificates. It may be pertinent to mention that film music and songs flourished between the early 1950s and the mid of 1970s.
Meanwhile, the PNCA felicitated Nida Qasim Khan on her film "Uraan - The Flight" which got selected at the ongoing film festival "Thinking Films: International Women's Day Special".

In a message, PNCA Director General Dr Fouzia Saeed said that one of the bright students of our film production course, Nida's short film "Uraan- The Flight" has been selected at the film festival "Thinking Films: International Women's Day special", said the press release.
She said that the film talks about breaking the mainstream grounds of representation and promise to tackle gender misrepresentation and discrimination. "We congratulate Nida for the achievement" she added.
