GILGIT:
Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Chief Minister Mehdi Shah has ordered the release of salaries to almost two dozen doctors who had threatened to boycott their duties over the nonpayment of six months salaries, officials said on Wednesday.“The chief minister has requested the relevant authorities to release the salaries within the next 24 hours,” said an official. Earlier, a delegation of doctors called on the chief minister and informed him about the issues they were facing. The doctors had also threatened to boycott hospitals earlier. However, they were assured by G-B Health Minister Gulbar Khan, who had earlier discussed the issue with Shah and requested that the chief minister consider the doctors’ case.
