KARACHI:

Reservations over the reinstatement of the local government system were discussed at a meeting held at Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh chief Shahi Syed’s house on Wednesday.

The ANP leaders met with a delegation from the Sindh United Party (SUP) led by their president Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah and vice president Syed Shah Muhammad Shah. In a press release issued after the meeting, Syed assured the delegation that the ANP would continue to support the people of Sindh and urged the people to take a stand against the conspiracies being plotted to create an urban-rural divide in Sindh. He added that the ANP would hold a meeting in a day or two to decide if they were going to support the SUP strike on August 13 against the reinstatement of the local government system.
