Covid-19 claims 13 more lives
Another 13 patients of Covid-19 died overnight in Sindh, raising the death toll to 4,424, according to a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday.
The CM said 274 new coronavirus were cases reported on the day when the results of 10,591 tests were released. This works out to a 2.6 percent detection rate.
To date, 3,075,396 tests have been conducted in Sindh, against which 259,665 cases have been diagnosed as positive. Of the infected persons, 248,999 patients or 96 percent have recovered, including 188 recoveries reported on Saturday.
At present 6,242 patients are under treatment, of whom 5,923 are in home isolation, eight at isolation centres and 309 at different hospitals, the CM stated. He added that the condition of 280 patients was stated to be critical, with 43 on ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 274 new cases, 93 were detected in Karachi. Of these, 35 were reported from the East district, 24 from the South district, 15 from Malir, 13 from the Central district, five from Korangi, and one from the West district.
Besides, Hyderabad reported 47 cases, Mirpurkhas 16, Shaheed Benazirabad 15, Tando Allahyar 13, Jamshoro eight, Larkana, Matiari and Thatta seven each, Naushero Feroze six, Ghotki and Sujawal five each, Jacobabad, Khairpur and Tando Muhammad Khan four each, Kashmore three and Umerkot and Qambar-Shahdadkot two each.
