Kite-flying threads

The Abbottabad district administration has announced a ban on the production of chemical, metal and glass-coated kite-flying threads and their sale as well.

According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Mughees Sanaullah, with the advent of the spring season, an increasing trend of kite flying was observed in the district and the voluminous use of string was proposing a serious threat to human lives and also to the birds.

The DC has directed the relevant authorities to strictly enforce the ban in Abbottabad under Section 144 in the larger interest of the public.

He said the ban violators would be punished under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
