'Friends' fans, rejoice! You won't have to wait much longer to tune into the highly anticipated reunion

Looks like the long awaited Friends reunion is finally hitting the screens and David Schwimmer has confirmed that the cast will be taping the reunion episode soon.

Speculations of the reunion have been going on since before the pandemic arrived. And now, in an interview with SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, Schwimmer, who plays Ross Gellar on the show, has confirmed that the main cast will be coming together soon to film the episode.

The 54-year-old said: "It's happening. Actually, in a little over a month I'm heading out to LA."

"So, finally, I mean, we figured out a way to film it safely and there's going to be a portion of it that we filmed outside because of, you know, for safety protocols," he continued.

Schwimmer was also asked if the gig would be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, and making sure to not spill much he said, "I can tell you it's not Ellen, and it's not Billy Crystal. I can tell you who it's not, but that'll take a while, probably."

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the president of HBO Programming also confirmed that the TV special, which was originally set to film in March of 2020, will finally take place this spring. Could we be any more excited?

When asked about the status of the reunion, Bloys stated that "the show will indeed see the six original stars reunite in person for a one-off TV event," adding, "The idea is that they would be together. The COVID situation has been complicated—not just for this, but for television production across the board...so we're kind of dealing with that as it comes, but it will be this spring."

Here’s hoping whatever’s been in the pipeline comes to the fore already.
