Under 150 new cases detected in Karachi
Less than 150 coronavirus cases emerged in Sindh on Monday, when 7,315 samples were tested for the contagion, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued on the day.
The CM said following the recent deaths and cases, the total number of infections reported from the province had increased to 258,411, while the Covid-19 death toll had climbed to 4,353, with three more fatalities.
According to the data shared by the CM, 62 of the new cases belonged to Karachi, 12 to Thatta, nine to Hyderabad, eight to Matiari, seven to Dadu, six to Sujawal, five to Tando Allahyar, four to Mirpurkhas, three each to Ghotki, Larkana, Naushero Feroze, Umerkot and Jacobabad, two each to Jamshoro, Khairpur and Kambar Shahdadkot and one each to Badin and Shaheed Benazirabad.
Besides, he said, with 350 more patients regaining health, the number of coronavirus recoveries reported so far in the province added up to 242,214. A total of 3,027,006 samples have been tested thus far for the virus, added the CM.
He stated that 11,844 Covid-19 patients were under treatment in Sindh as of Monday, with 11,655 in home isolation, eight in isolation centres and 348 in hospitals. The condition of 315 patients is critical and 48 are on ventilators, the CM added.
Citizens were urged to adhere to the coronavirus-mandated standard operating procedures (SOPs).
