Two ‘TTP militants’ killed in alleged encounter
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and federal intelligence agencies killed two suspected militants of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and alleged exchange of fire with them during a joint operation in Sukkur in the wee hours of Friday.
According to CTD in-charge Mazhar Mashwani, two pistols and a bag was found in the slain suspect's possession.
The law enforcers had conducted an operation in the limits of Patni police station after they received information of the presence of the suspected militants in the said area. They cordoned off the area and claimed to have traded gunshots with the suspects, identified as Wilayat Zeb and Shah Mehmood.
As a result, the suspects sustained wounds and were rushed to taluka hospital, Rohri, where they succumbed to their injuries.
Postmortem of the suspects’ bodies has been completed, according to the CTD in-charge.
