Eight more die of Covid-19 in Sindh
Eight more coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Sindh on Saturday, when 274 fresh Covid-19 cases were detected in the province, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued on the day.
The CM said following the recent deaths and cases, the total number of infections reported from the province had climbed to 258,003, while the Covid-19 death toll had increased to 4,343.
According to the data shared by the CM, 147 of the new cases belonged to Karachi, 29 to Hyderabad, 14 to Badin, nine to Dadu, seven each to Khairpur, Sanghar and Matiari, six to Larkana, five to Sujawal and as many to Thatta, four each to Qambar-Shahdadkot, Umerkot and Tando Allahyar, three each to Ghotki, Tando Muhammad Khan and Jacobabad and two each to Naushero Feroze and Sukkur.
Besides, he said, with 224 more patients regaining health, the number of coronavirus recoveries reported so far in the province added up to 241,480. He stated that 12,180 Covid-19 patients were under treatment in Sindh as of Saturday, with 11,780 in home isolation, seven in isolation centres and 393 in hospitals. The condition of 357 patients is critical and 48 are on ventilators, the CM added.
