Lahore General Hospital dialysis centre upgraded
Lahore General Hospital (LGH) introduced the ‘No cut no stitch’ procedure for stones, prostate gland and other urological problems, stated LGH Principal Dr Sardar Muhammad Alfreed Zafar.
He expressed these views at the inauguration ceremony of four more dialysis machines at LGH on Friday.
LGH Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Razzaq, Dr Muhammad Ayub, Dr Shah Jahan, Dr Ammar Yusuf, Dr Saleem Malik, Dr Abdul Aziz, young doctors and nursing staff were also present on the occasion.
The machines for kidney treatment, worth Rs6 million had been donated by philanthropists.
The LGH principal added, “This is the first time at a public sector hospital that this latest medical procedure has been used. This technique is introduced by Professor of Urology Dr Muhammad Nazir and his team.”
He further said that this technique is being practiced in the urology department, LGH. “The kidney and heart patients can also benefit from this latest technique.”
Dr Nazir said that the Urology Ward of LGH had been completed with the help of cooperation of generous people. “This centre is not less than any international standard in terms of their medical quality and renovation.”
He further said, “Sufficient facilities are being provided free of cost to the poor patients in these wards equipped with modern facilities.”
