36 Balochistan candidates finalised for Senate polls

The Election Commission of Pakistan has released a revised list of 36 candidates for 12 Senate seats from Balochistan.

According to the list, 18 candidates are contesting for seven general seats, including Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, Senator Sarfraz Bugti, Senator Sitara Ayaz, Orangzeb Jamaldini, Capt (retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Prince Agha Omar Ahmadzai, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Khalil Ahmad Buledi, Mir Israrullah Zehri, Sajid Tareen, Muhammad Qasim, Hussain Baloch, Senator Usman Khan Kakar, Nawabzada Omar Farooq Kasi of the party and Syed Zahoor Agha of PTI.

Independent candidates include Mir Sardar Khan Rind, Abdul Qadir and Muhammad Jawad Hazara of Jamhoori Watan Party. Four candidates are contesting for two technocrat seats in the Senate which include Saeed Hashmi, Mir Naveed Kalmati, Sajid Tareen Advocate and Kamran Murtaza Advocate.

There are nine candidates contesting for two women’s seats including Shumaila Afshin, Tahira Jattak, Asiya Nasir, Banish Masih, Atifa and Naseema Ehsan.
