Actors should get paid for reruns: Mikaal Zulfiqar

Actor voiced against dramas being aired repeatedly without any incentive given to the actors

Mikaal Zulfiqar is considered as one of the most iconic actors in the showbiz industry. He has delivered many hit series such as Dur-re-ShahwarSheher e ZaatAlif Allah aur Insaan and many more. One of the toppers of the list includes Diyar-e-Dil that has been making rounds on our TV screens ever since it aired in 2015.

Zulfiqar took it to Instagram and shared a series of photos on his stories stating, “Actors should get paid for reruns. It’s unfair. Start a movement.” In the chain series of the stories posted by the actor, Zulfiqar shared a picture from one of the scenes of the drama and wrote, “Hum TV is airing Diyar-e-Dil for the umpteenth time.”

In support, Yasir Hussain also took to Instagram and added,“Shukar hai khuda ka kisi senior actor ne ye bat keh hi di. Mikaal Zulfiqar, aap chah gaye hain (Grateful to God that a senior actor has finally raised his voice on a much important issue. Mikaal Zulfiqar, you’re the best).”

Diyar-e-Dil rose to fame due to its storyline which portrayed Pakistan from a rather realistic point of view. The script highlights honour and obedience of one’s parents and the importance of family. While the storyline bends towards family values, the scenery is as important as the drama. The hit series was filmed in Khaplu, Gilgit.
