Covid-19 claimed 12 more lives in Sindh on Saturday, when 404 new infections were confirmed, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued on the day.

The CM said the results of 11,399 samples were released on the day and of those over 400 were found infected, lifting the Covid-19 tally in the province to 255,833. Besides, he added, with 12 more deaths, the coronavirus death toll has climbed to 4,288.

According to him, 232 of the new cases were reported from Karachi, 61 from Hyderabad, 28 from Badin, 13 from Shaheed Benazirabad, 12 from Jacobabad, seven from Mirpurkhas, six from Umerkot, five from Larkana and as many from Matiari, four from Ghotki, Nauhsero Feroze, Sujawal and Tando Allahyar each, three from Khairpur and as many from Qambar-Shahdadkot, two from Sukkur and one from Thatta and Kashmore-Kandhkot each.

He said 294 fresh recoveries were reported in Sindh, following which the total number of recoveries reported in the province added up to 238,792.

Currently, 12,753 Covid-19 patients under treatment here, the CM stated, adding that 12,309 of them were in home isolation, eight in isolation centres, and 436 in hospitals. The condition of 397 patients is critical and 58 are on ventilators, he said.
