Five per cent fee reduction announced in various passport categories
Passport authorities on Friday announced to reduce fees for various categories by five per cent.
According to Express, the fee reduction notification has been issued and would come into effect immediately. The fee reduction would also apply to passport offices across the country and abroad.
Five- year passport
Urgent fee for the five-year 100-page passport would be Rs 12,000 whereas normal fee would be Rs 6,000.
Furthermore, the urgent fee for a 72-page passport was set at Rs 9,000 while the normal fee was set to at Rs 5,500.
The urgent fee for a 36-page passport would be Rs 5,000 and the normal fee would be Rs 3,000.
10-year passport
The urgent fee for a 100-page 10-year passport would now be Rs 18,000 and the normal fee would be Rs 9,000.

Similarly, the urgent fee for a 72-page passport was set at Rs 13,500 whereas the normal fee was set at Rs 8,250.
The urgent fee for a 36-page passport would be Rs 7,500 and the normal fee would be Rs 4,500.
The reduction in passport fee is applicable after February 17 and no refund or fee of any kind would be given to those who paid the fee before the mentioned date.
On February 15, the interior ministry amended the country's visa policy and now short duration visas for Pakistan would be exempted from security clearance.
However, for longer duration work visas, it is still mandatory to submit the required security clearance, letter of employment and other documents.
