JI wants interest-free loans for schools

Party announces policy at Pildat session

ISLAMABAD:

The Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JI) on Wednesday issued a set of comprehensive policies on the procurement and administration of coronavirus vaccine, and on the management of the Impact of Covid-19 on the economy and education.

At a working session organised by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (Pildat) in Islamabad, the party discussed its policies on vaccination, economy, and education.

The party leaders maintained that all vaccine purchases should be made by the government and that there should be only a government-controlled system of order placement, booking, and delivery of the vaccine.

They stressed that healthcare workers from the public as well as the private sector should be vaccinated first, followed by persons above the age of 55 years.

During the pandemic, they said the formula of discount in fee should be devised after mutual consultation of the government, parents and school administration.

The party believes that as compensation, the government should provide grants and interest-free loans to private institutions so that they can pay salaries to teachers, and save the educational sector from a big crisis.”
