IN PICTURES: Dia Mirza ties the knot
Bollywood star Dia Mirza has tied the knot with a Mumbai-based businessman by the name of Vaibhav Rekhi, in an intimate wedding in the Indian city that took place on Monday, February 15, as reported by Pinkvilla. The Love Breakups Zindagi actor had previously been married to another Indian business Sahil Sangha but the couple decided to part ways after spending five years together, citing irreconcilable differences.
Now, the 39-year-old has taken the plunge once again and we wish her all the best for her journey ahead. In the meantime, here are some of the many details of Mirza and Rekhi’s dreamy wedding ceremony.
• The clothes
The Thappad actor, who actually surprised everyone with the announcement of her second wedding, looked drop-dead gorgeous at the ceremony in a bright, crimson-red sari accessorised with a traditional, embellished red dupatta covering her head. Later on, Mirza revealed a beautiful jasmine setting in the hair.
As for the groom’s outfit, Rekhi looked rather dapper in a classic white kurta-pajama paired with a yellow-gold turban tied around his head. Talk about #stylegoals!
• The traditional ceremony
The newlyweds decided to keep the nuptials traditional. A marriage registrar was also present to legally register the wedding then and there. Fellow actor and Mirza’s best friend, Padmaavat starlet Aditi Rao Hydari also shared a photo of herself holding Rekhi’s shoes, protecting them during the Joota Chupai ceremony.
Not only that! The ceremony began with Rekhi’s daughter walking down the aisle with Mirza, holding up a placard reading “Papa’s girls,” as revealed in a video doing the rounds on social media.
• The décor
The couple had been dating since last year and got married in the garden Mirza’s Bandra residence. The area was covered with dreamy floral garlands and other ornaments hanging from the branches of the surrounding trees. The overall décor complimented the much simple dressed bride and groom.
The lovebirds also distributed sweets among the paparazzi present at the venue later on.
