PM offered me Senate chief seat: Babar

Says Imran had contacted me 10 days ago. If anyone has any doubts, so they should come, I will show all the evidences

ISLAMABAD:

The meeting of the scrutiny committee formed to investigate the alleged foreign funding of the PTI could not proceed on Monday due to the busy schedule of the panel’s head.

The meeting has been reconvened on Tuesday (today).

Petitioner Akbar S Babar, one of the founding members of PTI, appeared before the commission while Shah Khawar appeared on behalf of the ruling party.

Talking to reporters after the hearing, Babar said: “I have been offered bigger posts from Prime Minister Imran Khan. Imran has become the king of Pakistan.” He added that the PM was walking by “holding the finger of the umpire” while recalling the PM’s previous remark.

There was no mention of JIT in the notification of the ECP, he said, alleging that documents were being kept secret by converting scrutiny committee into JIT.

“I was also offered seat of senate chairman by Imran Khan. Imran had contacted me 10 days ago. If anyone has any doubts, so they should come. I will show all the evidences,” he added.
