LHC orders inquiry into cases against architect

A case was registered by the Punjab government against architect Azam Saeed.

LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court chief justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry ordered a high-level inquiry into the multiple cases against a Lahore-based architect, registered by the Punjab government.

Architect Azam Saeed had been contracted to build a park in front of the Chief Minister’s House in Murree in 2009, but he allegedly failed to complete the work despite receiving money as per the contract.

Punjab Advocate General Khawaja Harris submitted before the court that only two cases had been registered on the directions of the Punjab government, while the government had no knowledge of the remaining five cases.

On this, the court ordered the Rawalpindi SSP to probe the five fake cases.

Moreover, the court ordered the petitioner to be part of the inquiry of the other two cases and get his statements recorded.

The case has been adjourned till September 13.
