Akcent hints PSL 7 and 8 anthems

Romanian band comments in favour of future songs

Following the mixed responses the sixth Pakistan Super League (PSL) anthem received, singer Naseebo Lal had previously said she never thought Groove Mera would become such a hit. However, the song has created much of a stir ever since its initial release.

While most of our celebrities have been supporting the anthem, netizens appear to not be in the favour of the song. Just like that, fans took the opportunity and started to suggest Akcent for the next PSL anthem on Tuesday.

A user on Twitter tweeted, “I don’t care about a PSL song but Akcent is one of my favourite singers.”

Another added, “Wait what? Akcent's ready to do it? Why not a duet between Akcent and Ali Zafar?”

In response to Akcent, a user tweeted, “Yes it will be a proud moment for us please do make a PSL 6 anthem. At least we won’t have to listen to this year’s crappy anthem.”

Since Groove Mera became the target of social media, many celebrities had jumped to defend it. The track featured legendary singer Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig and rapping duo Young Stunners. Composed by celebrated musician Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan (Xulfi) and Adnan Dhool.

The disparagement recently got support from the cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar, who stated, “I am about to file a case against PCB. Who came up with this idea?" he began. "Such an awful composition and anthem.”
