Six die in Punjab road accidents

943 people were injured in 902 Road Traffic Crashes in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

At least six people died whereas 943 were injured in 902 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of this, 567 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals whereas, 376 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site. The majority, around 63%, involved motorcycles. Furthermore, the analysis showed that 370 drivers, 36 underage drivers, 131 pedestrians, and 448 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes. The statistics show that 213 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 199 persons, placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 76 in Faisalabad with 87 victims and Gujranwala at third with 51 RTCs and 62 victims. The details further revealed that 949 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 786 male and 163 female victims. The age group of the victims shows that 184 were under 18 years of age, 497 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 268 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
