Kangana Ranaut claims she's better than Meryl Streep, compares herself to Marlon Brando

The Bollywood actor thinks she is more talented than ‘any other actress on this planet’

Keeping up with her mostly absurd claims, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has once again spoken along the lines of being more talented than ‘any other actress on this planet’.

Sharing stills from her upcoming films Dhaakad and Thalaivi, the actor compared herself to Hollywood star Meryl Streep. She tweeted saying, “I am open for debate if anyone can show me more range and brilliance in craft by any other actress on this planet. I promise to give up my arrogance, until then I can surely afford the luxury of pride.”

Ranaut went on to add, “Massive transformation alert, the kind of range I display as a performer, no other actress on this globe can right now. I have raw talent like Meryl Streep for layered character depictions but I can also do skilled action and glamour like Gal Gadot.”

Following this, many called Ranaut pompous and a narcissist, afterwhich she wrote, "Please prove my claims wrong or illogical, will accept my statements as gloating disorder then. If you can’t, you too have to accept [that] in this world of mediocre hyenas, which will do anything to look through genuine talent, modesty is not good. Not at the cost of HONESTY.”

“Snatch your due,” she declared, adding that Streep couldn't have done films like Queen and Tanu Weds Manu. But that’s not all. Hours after calling herself a better actor than the three-time Oscar winner, Ranaut hinted at being a better stunt performer than Tom Cruise.

On Tuesday, she shared an old news story about the Manikarnika action director praising her skills. “Hahaha,” she reveled “the liberals are confused. The renowned action director of Brave Heart and many legendary Hollywood action films said I am better than Tom Cruise when it comes to action."

In the news story, Nick Powell says, "I have worked with the likes of Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, but she gave me the unique experience in which an actress was leading the pack. There were times she pulled off smoother stunts than Tom Cruise."

After continually comparing herself to the best in the trade internationally, Ranaut went on to ask how many national or Padma awards Streep had won. "Anyone asking how many Oscars I have can also ask how many national or Padma awards Meryl Streep has. The answer is ‘none’. Come out of your slave mentality. High time you find some self-respect and self-worth."

It is pertinent to mention here that while Ranaut is a three-time National Film Award winner, Streep has been nominated for a record 21 Academy Awards, of which she has won three, and a record 32 Golden Globe nominations, of which she has won nine.

But Ranaut went on to see similarities with another Hollywood legend; Marlon Brando. In response to a Twitter user taking a dig at her, she said, "They are the invaders in the native red Indians’ land. I am a native Indian who wants to protect my land. Of course I won’t reflect her sentiments. That way I am more like Marlon Brando. Now it will rattle you more, as a matter of fact, I snubbed Filmfare just like Brando snubbed Oscars."
